Note: This course is for anyone who works with residents in Cheetham Hill or Crumpsall – additional courses will be provided for other areas of Manchester in due course.

Course Preview
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) are stressful or traumatic events in childhood and can include abuse, neglect or household dysfunction such as witnessing domestic violence or abuse. These experiences can have a major impact on an individual’s future health and wellbeing.

This one day course is aimed at anyone who works with children and or their families in Cheetham Hill or Crumpsall. The course will be delivered by multi-agency professionals including social workers, health professionals, education professionals and faith leaders from the Crumpsall and Cheetham Hill.

Course Aims
This training aims to provide multi-agency professionals with an opportunity to better understand ACES and to discuss a trauma informed approach when working with children and their families. The course will also discuss the impact of toxic stress and how building resilience can improve outcomes for the individuals, families and communities.
