#Knifefree Campaign re-launched

As part of the Home Office’s work to reduce knife crime among young people, the #Knifefree campaign has been re-launched.

There are a series of adverts showing real-life young people who have turned their lives around after deciding to go knife free.

There is a dedicated #Knifefree website at www.knifefree.co.uk which provides advice, signposts support services and highlights activities to empower young people to change their behaviour.

Educational resources can be found at www.pshe-association.org.uk/knifefree to support professionals who work with young people to educate them about the dangers of knife crime.

Further resources
The Mayor of London recently launched the ‘London Needs You Alive’ campaign and with a range of resources. Although these resources are branded with the London message, the content can be used more generically.

New powers to control suspects thought to be carrying knives are being introduced by the government in a bid to cut rising violence. Knife Crime Prevention Orders would impose sanctions, including bans on using social media to stir up trouble.
