In order to keep everyone in Manchester safe we need to ensure that we continue to learn, develop and improve.
Our Learning Hub provides practitioners and volunteers with advice and information about how to access different types of learning and development activities relating to their area of work or interest.
Multi-agency training helps practitioners and volunteers understand their roles, responsibilities and safeguarding procedures; and creates a shared understanding of assessment and decision making practices. Training can be face to face, online or a combination.

We do not deliver training to individual organisations, schools or agencies – our duty is to provide multi-agency training. Nor can we recommend any private training organisations or trainers.
Our learning from practice resources look at the outcomes from a range of reviews and audits – locally and nationally – and how we can use these valuable lessons to improve our practice.
Our website resources help us ‘join the dots’ to ensure safeguarding is everyone’s business.
Face to face training

Online learning
Online learning is flexible, taking place at a pace, place and time to suit the learner and can offer a high quality and consistent message to learners.
Through our online learning site – developed in conjunction with Virtual College – you will be able to access a range of online learning opportunities.

Multi-agency Training Pool
All our face to face training is delivered by our multi-agency training pool.
We aim to prove high quality learning and development activities designed to meet local needs. This requires maintaining a pool of skilled and experienced practitioners from our partner agencies to support the design, delivery and evaluation of multi-agency training.
Our training pool provides an exciting opportunity for professional development and we would be pleased to hear from colleagues interested in membership.

Quality Assurance of training
To monitor and evaluate the impact of our learning and development activities, we coordinate training evaluations and monitor learning into practice.
Learning from Practice
When something happens that shows partner services have not worked together to effectively safeguard adults or children, we aim to ‘learn from practice’ and improve so that similar issues do not occur in the future.
