Manchester Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements now published

Manchester’s Safeguarding Partners have now published the Manchester Multi Agency Safeguarding Arrangements (MMASA).

This should be read in conjunction with the Final Updated MMASA Document ,agreed in December 2019.

The Safeguarding Partners would like to thank everyone who has supported them to develop a clear set of arrangements; and a plan which will build on previous success and deliver the collective safeguarding ambitions for the city.

More information about how these Arrangements will be implemented will be provided in the coming months.

Note:
The Children and Social Work Act (2017) and the revised Working Together guidance enacted on 29 June 2018 set out provisions to replace Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCB) with new flexible local Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements (MASA) led by the three defined Safeguarding Partners (local authority, health and police); and placed a duty on those partners to make arrangements to work together and with any relevant agencies for the purpose of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in their area.
