Website privacy statement

Privacy statement
This privacy statement covers stg-manchestersafeguardingpartners-old.kinsta.cloud and/or  www.manchestersafeguardingpartnershiplearning.co.uk  and any other websites that include these addresses.

When you use these websites you are agreeing to this statement and any additional statements on individual pages within the sites.

We may change this information without notice, so you should revisit this page and any other relevant pages from time to time.

Data Protection
As a registered Data Controller, we will process your personal data and information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. For more information about data protection see www.ico.org.uk  or please contact us.

For more information about the data governance status of the Partnership see our Information Governance resource.

The Partnership is hosted by Manchester City Council  – if you have any queries about the Data Protection Act 1998 or the Freedom of Information Act 2000,  please contact us.

Respecting your privacy
We respect your privacy. Information you provide, or that is gathered automatically, helps us monitor our activities and the services you are entitled to as a resident of Manchester or visitor to our website.

We treat incoming emails in the same way as other communications we receive.

Emails sent through the internet may not be secure. They could be intercepted and read by someone else. Please consider this before you send personal or sensitive information by email.

Please protect against unauthorised access to your passwords and to your computer or mobile device. You should always log out of secure sites – especially when you use a shared computer.

We aim to have a secure and reliable website, and use appropriate security technology to protect any sensitive personal data we process about you. But your use of the internet, and this website, is entirely at your own risk. We have no responsibility or liability for the security of personal information transmitted over the internet.

We sometimes send emails that include personal and private information. The only person who should see an email like this is the person it is meant for.

Sometimes we give an email an extra level of security. It is called an ‘encrypted’ email.

To read an encrypted email from us, you first need to set up an account through ‘Egress’ – a specialist organisation used by lots of councils, government departments and private companies to keep information secure. See how to read a secure email from us.

Other organisations
We do not make your personal details available to other companies for marketing purposes, but we may share those details with our partner organisations who deliver services. We may also share non-personal details with those organisations, for use in compiling statistics for example.

If requested we may share information with law-enforcement or government authorities, for a criminal investigation.

Registering for our e-bulletin
You can sign up (register) to receive our e-bulletin and other email updates from the Manchester Safeguarding Partnership.

If you register, we may contact you by email about information and events of interest provided by the Partnership or our partner organisations.

If you do not want us to do this please contact us.

Cookies
Like most websites we use ‘cookies’ to collect anonymous statistics about how people use the site, and to help us keep it relevant for the user. Cookies ‘remember’ bits of information from your visit to the site.

A cookie is a simple text file that’s stored on your computer or mobile device by a website’s server. Only that server can retrieve or read the contents of that cookie. Each cookie is unique to your web browser. So if we put a cookie on your computer, it cannot be read by any other website.

We use two types of cookie:

  • ‘session cookies’ last as long as your current visit to the site, or for up to a limited amount of time if you keep the site open without using it. They mean you don’t have to keep re-submitting information as you move through the site or carry out transactions.
  • ‘persistent cookies’ remember information from previous visits, for example names and details for online forms. They are used to collect anonymous statistics about how many people use the site and to maintain any settings (such as accessibility) you have changed.

How we use cookies to collect statistics
To improve our service we collect anonymous web statistics using programmes called Google Analytics and SiteImprove.

They store several cookies on users’ computers or mobiles devices to tell us how many people have visited each web page, how they got there, and where they navigated to from there. The data collected is completely anonymous and does not store any personal details.

Changing your cookie settings
You can change your computer settings at any time to accept all cookies, to notify you when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies. How you do this depends on your web browser.
